Exposition Architecture of the Stone Belt

This exposition is dedicated to the history of architecture and town planning and construction in the Urals. The best samples of Ural architecture of the late 18th – 20th centuries are represented by models, drawings, painting and photos of the late 19th century.

Seven sections trace the main stages of architecture development and supply the idea of historical styles: from folk wooden architecture and Baroque to avant-guard and contemporary architecture. The students of the Ural State Academy of Architecture and Art and the Ural college of architecture, construction and entrepreneurship made large-scale models of architectural ensembles of Solikamsk,  Dalmatov monastery, the monuments of industrial architecture of Seversky, Kyshtymsky, Lysvensky and Bilimbayevsky works, and masterpieces by MPMalakhov, the founder of Ural classicism school.

The models are supplemented by a virtual excursion “Ekaterinburg Sightseeing Guided Tour”. Fifteen-episode documentary series is a fascinating story of the distinctive features of our city's architectural styles illustrated by 50 monuments.
